The Ambassador of Albania Visited BCCI

Н.E. Inid Milo, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Albania in Sofia, visited BCCI and had a talk with its President Tsvetan Simeonov.

Ambassador Milo said that active work is well underway for expanding the bilateral economic cooperation. In this connection, an agreement was recently signed between the Ministries of Tourism of both countries. Also last month, a Bulgarian-Albanian Business Chamber was established to assist the investors from both countries in developing the processes of cooperation between them. Currently, there is no direct airline between the capitals of the two countries which is an obstacle both to tourism and to business relationships.

During the talk, it was agreed to organise a presentation of the business environment in Albania and the investment opportunities to the Bulgarian business circles; the companies from both countries, which are interested in participating, will be additionally informed about that.

Mr Simeonov acquainted the Ambassador with the overall functioning of the Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria, since a restructuring will soon be made in the system of the Albanian Chambers.

Data of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) indicate that as at 1 July 2024, the aggregate foreign direct investments from Albania in Bulgaria amounted to 15.3 million euro.
