According to the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act an Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) will enter in force from 1 April 2010. The BCCI conducted training for its members on the upcoming introduction of the system. Lecturer was Mrs. Svetla Genova from the Customs Agency – EMCS national communication manager.
Upon the system’s operation start, the present procedure of excise movement under a deferred excise payment regime within the Community will be replaced with electronic data exchange. EMCS’ main purpose is computerization of accompanying administrative documents, thus improving the functioning of the internal market by simplifying the inter-community excise movement under deferred excise payment and will enable control of this process in real time.
Compared to the currently existing paper procedure, the new system will provide for electronic exchange and validation of the electronic administrative document as well as electronic end of movement.
The theme is extremely topical and the issues considered during the seminar will support the work with the web application of the Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS).
