The BCCI supports the forthcoming EP voting regarding amendment of a Late Payments Directive. It would improve the business’ access to the so necessary means of driving the business cycle , at a time , when the sources of external financing are still rare , especially for the small and medium-size enterprises .
The biggest employer organisation – BCCI perceives the position of BUSINESSEUROPE and EUROCHAMBERS of refusing interference in the contractual freedom in the inter-corporate relations as one of the bases of the European Private Law.
In the conditions of economic crisis, when the active business must be supported, the discussion of a fast payment code and mediation procedures will allow to skip the need for any preliminary conditions for inter-corporate relations, to rely on the competition laws and the equal treatment of the economic subjects . This must happen without any subjective interference and with transparent definition of the attitude thereto.
This is a position expressed by the BCCI Chairman Tsvetan Simeonov on the occasion of a forthcoming voting in the European Parliament of an amendment in the Directive on Late Payments and the need for strict rules on the state authorities expressed earlier in a joint statement by BUSINESSEUROPE and EUROCHAMBERS which represent 96 % of the small and medium enterprises in the European region .
