Hristina Mitreva, Manager of the National Social Security Institute and Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the BCCI, discussed measures to guarantee the longterm financial stability of the Bulgarian pension system



Mrs. Hristina Mitreva, Manager of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) and Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the BCCI, met at the BCCI to discuss a reduction in business expenses attending to social and security payments by introducing an uniform payment document. Now payments to the NSSI are made by use of five different documents involving payment of charges.

The purpose of the meeting with the biggest employers’ organisation was to present measures to guarantee the long-term financial stability of the Bulgarian pension system and improve the pensions’ adequacy. These are a proposal of the consultative committee on the pension reform and pending is its presentation before the Government for discussion.

Commented was the BCCI’s position on removing the ceiling for the social security payments, which must be obligatorily bound up with removal of the pensions’ ceiling. The Manager of the National Social Security Institute Mrs. Mitreva informs that a Green Book on the Pension Systems in the EU countries is soon to be published, where the possibilities to guarantee a long-term financial stability of the pension systems will be assessed by use of common criteria.
