GS1 Bulgaria Council Will Draw from Austria’s Experience in Radio Frequency Identification

Within the mentorship programme, representatives of GS1 Bulgaria will visit GS1 Austria. Representatives of the business, supply chains, and manufacturers of pharmaceutical and chemical products will take part in the delegation led by Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI and Chairman of the GS1 Bulgaria Council with BCCI. The aim of the visit is for both countries to share experience in the implementation of GS1 standards, as well as to exchange positive practices in their application.

During the first day of the visit, a review on the implementation of the new DataBar symbols for unique identification of fresh products and products with variable weight will be made. The progress on the application of GS1 standards in healthcare, e-government and mobile solutions aimed at better safety and servicing of the end users will be discussed.

With the speedy introduction of new technologies in Bulgaria, more enquiries have been received related to the use of radio frequency identification and GS1 standards in the supply chain. The subject will be paid special attention with a planned visit to the laboratory Enso Detego GmbH, established with the participation of GS1 Austria.
