The visit of our business delegation to Marseille marked by a marathon of meetings
As part of his working visit to Marseille, France the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov visited a company specialized in production and distribution of sports goods. Suitable conditions to practice over 50 sports are provided in sports centers of the company located across France and in other European countries. Bulgaria also needs such services, because mass sports in out country are not well developed yet and the presence of such a company would fill in an empty niche in the market, the President of BCCI said.
The company has good positions in the textile sector. During the meeting the possibility to transfer sewing orders from the Far East to Bulgarian companies from the sector was discussed. Bulgarian companies are known with the quality of their products and preciseness in the execution of orders in short terms.
In addition to services from the light industry, the partners from Marseille expressed interest in cooperation in the field of IT. BCCI undertook to provide details about cooperation opportunities of Bulgarian IT companies with French partners soon. Mostly small and medium-sized companies will be searched as subcontractors of French orders.
The Bulgarian delegation held preliminary talks with the French-Armenian Chamber of Commerce in Marseille and got acquainted to their activity. Representatives of the French-Armenian Chamber of Commerce in Marseille were also interested in future cooperation with BCCI.
A meeting with the most famous local manufacturers of wine and olive oil was also included in the programme. The Bulgarian delegation was assured that they strictly adhere to the active legislation and requirements, which is a guarantee for the good quality of the products. Bulgaria can learn a lot from their experience in adopting rigorous wine production standards.
Later today news from the Tourism Branch Chamber is expected. Opportunities to attract more French tourists to Bulgaria through local tour agencies will be discussed. The Bulgarian delegation will draw from the experience of the local authorities in Marseille with regard to attracting tourists. The local authorities are preparing to make their city the newest cultural capital of Europe. Marseille was elected a cultural capital of Europe for 2013. This experience will be extremely useful for Bulgarian cities Sofia and Varna, which are going to apply jointly for European cultural capital for 2019.
The visit of the Bulgarian delegation to Marseille is a result of expressed interest by the French party for close cooperation with Bulgarian businesses in the field of textile, IT, agriculture and tourism, and is held jointly with the Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Ivo Marinov.
