Bulgarian companies can be consulted about the Chinese market for free
EU SME Center in Beijing offers free consultations, market research, data base of experts and trainings to European small and medium-sized enterprises. This became clear during a seminar on “How to do business in China – challenges and opportunities for SMEs” held at BCCI.
The seminar was opened by Vasil Todorov, Secretary General of BCCI. He noted that despite the crisis Asian markets have maintained their economic growth and export potential. Trade turnover between Bulgaria and China in 2011 exceeded USD 1 329 mln. Monthly Bulgarian – Chinese business forums are organized by BCCI with the support of the Commercial Office of the Embassy of China in Sofia and the Bulgarian – Chinese joint chambers.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Bulgarian – Chinese Chamber of Commerce Li Jiayi, China is a key market for European exporters. Among the advantages of China he mentioned the tax incentives and the removed legal restrictions in the past few years.
The lecturer of the seminar David Lavorel, Director of EU SME Center Beijing said that the lack of information is among the main barriers to entering the Chinese market. He presented the wide range of services provided by the Center to encourage European SMEs to develop business with China. Bulgarian companies can use these services, after a free registration on the website of the Center (http://www.eusmecentre.org.cn/).
Most often SMEs from the new EU member-states – Hungary, Cyprus and Bulgaria – seek the expertise of the Center. French and German companies are interested in legal consultations as well as in export standards.
After the seminar the participants were given the opportunity for individual business consultations.
