The role of BSEC for regional prosperity was discussed at a meeting at BCCI
Prof. Viktor Arhipov, member of the Board of Directors of the Business Council with the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) visited BCCI and met with the President of the Chamber Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Council with BSEC. Future initiatives of the Business Council were discussed.
During the meeting the responsibility of Bulgaria, as a founding country of BSEC and an EU member-state, for assisting the cooperation between the European Union and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and the rapprochement process between the countries from the region and the EU was emphasized.
Russia presided over the organization in the period July – December 2011. On 20 January this year at a regular meeting in Istanbul the presidency mandate was assumed by Serbia.
The next meeting of the Business Council will take place on 20 April 2012 in Belgrade. Some of the main topics to be discussed include promotion of bilateral and multilateral business cooperation in the region, partnerships in the sectors of energy, science and technology, transport and cooperation within the “Black Sea Synergy” project.
