Bulgaria – Qatar Business Council with BCCI was established









 
The initial constituent meeting of the Bulgaria – Qatar Business Council (BQBC) with BCCI was held on 9 February 2012 at the Chamber. The idea for the establishment of the business council originated and was first discussed during the visit of the Bulgarian business delegation to Qatar in 2007. The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov thanked Asparouh Karastoyanov for his efforts and professional contacts used for the realisation of the idea.

Eight founder-companies presented their activities in the sectors consultation services, trade, tourism, stock-breeding, construction, agriculture and production of construction materials.


The founders elected management of BQBC with President Asparouh Karastoyanov. The meeting continued with the adoption of the Business Council’s programme for 2012:

• 13 – 15 March – participation in the Bulgarian National Exhibition in Doha, Doha International Exhibition Center, organized by the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency;
• September – Bulgarian visit of a business delegation from Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
• Designing a website of the Council;
• Exchanging business information with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
• Assistance for establishing contacts with Qatari companies.


BCCI will inform Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry about the establishment of the Business Council.
