With its timely reaction the Ministry of Interior facilitated Bulgarian companies in obtaining Force – Majeure Certificates
The complicated situation which occurred in our country in the end of January to mid February this year, created serious difficulties for companies which supply raw materials for manufacturing processes, transport goods, perform construction-assembly works, etc. Border checkpoints were also closed.
BCCI has received multiple requests by companies to issue certificates verifying the emergency situation, which would be presented before their partners and relieve them of responsibility for delay in the performance of their obligations under a commercial contract. The procedure for issuance of force – majeure certificates requires official documents issued by independent bodies (ministries, municipal authorities, etc.) to be provided to confirm the unpredictable circumstances and the period/duration of the event.
The Ministry of Interior’s timely reaction in providing the required information greatly facilitated entrepreneurs in obtaining these documents. The information provided will be used by all companies affected by the natural disasters, will save them time and thus will significantly facilitate the procedure for issuance of force-majeure certificates.
BCCI expressed its gratefulness to the management of the Ministry of Interior and its staff for the timely, responsible and adequate reaction. We rely on the other ministries issuing the respective documents to also assist the business and send the relevant information in accordance with the desire to reduce the administrative burden on businesses.
