BCCI: The successful practices of other companies are most reassuring for investors
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov participated in the conference “Building the Change – Bulgaria: infrastructure and projects for the country’s growing economy”, organized by Confindustria Bulgaria (the association of Italian companies in Bulgaria).
The topic of change of the infrastructure for a growing economy is of utmost importance and therefore supported by BCCI. The successful practices of other companies are most reassuring for investors and it is well-known that some of the Italian companies in Bulgaria are expanding their investments, which is a clear signal of their satisfaction with the gained positions, said Tsvetan Simeonov. The programme and speakers were carefully selected and contributed to the further clarification of the topic.
It is worth noting the statement of Antonio Cancian, Member of the European Parliament and Member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism, who pleaded for a new approach to project development and implementation of public procurements in general. Planning in these cases should be subjected to a very careful assessment of the costs, terms and clear responsibilities of the parties, in order to avoid the repeated postponement and raising of the costs of infrastructural projects. The MEP spoke in favour of attracting investments with ongoing multiplier effect for Member States. The crisis is of such magnitude that Europe needs a project equivalent in scale to the Marshall plan (officially known as the European Recovery Program after World War II). Governments should as soon as possible come up with urgent measures if we want to get out of the depression, said Antonio Cancian.
“This year is important for all entrepreneurs willing to overcome the crisis, and today’s event is indicative of the faith which Italian entrepreneurs have in Bulgaria’s potential”, said H.E. Stefano Benazzo, Ambassador of Italy to Bulgaria. He stressed that Italian entrepreneurs realize the challenges faced in the infrastructure sector in Bulgaria, but are ready to cooperate with the Bulgarians for the makeover of their country.
More than 100 Bulgarian and Italian companies attended the conference. They were able to meet with representatives of various public institutions and to discuss the upcoming infrastructural projects of importance to our country.
