The first Wine Forum on the Balkans is being prepared
BCCI is co-organizer of the event
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov had a working meeting with Galina Niforou, Managing Director of the Balkans International Wine Competition (BIWC) to discuss the preparation of the first Balkans wine forum, which will take place from 14 to 17 June 2012 in Sofia, Grand Hotel Sofia. The event will be accompanied by the Balkans International Wine Competition.
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is co-organizer of the event.
In order to attract the widest possible range of participants - winemakers and distributors, during the meeting it was decided to extend by one week the term in which companies can benefit from promotional prices for early registration – until 17 May.
The ambition of the organizers is to draw the attention of the world wine community to the unique region of Sofia as a natural center of the Balkans. Winemakers from all Balkan states will take part in the competition. With nearly 1.8 million tons wine production per year, the Balkans ranks 5th in the world, right after the largest wine producing countries - Italy, France, Spain and USA. Over the last decade the Balkans has achieved enormous progress in the quality of its wines and can claim the position of a key player on the world wine map.
Renowned wine experts from all over the world, masters of wine, wine traders, journalists and bloggers from the USA, the UK, Russia, India, Scandinavia, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc. will meet at the forum.
