BCCI participated in an entrepreneurship lesson organized by 23rd Secondary School in Sofia
On 22 May 2012, representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the presentation of the newly-acquired entrepreneurial skills by the students of 23rd Secondary School in Sofia. They witnessed an interesting entrepreneurship lesson taught by the students from first “B” grade and their teacher Mrs. Sofia Ilieva.
Among the guests were the Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Science Milena Damyanova and the Deputy Mayor of Sofia Todor Chobanov. In his address to the children, Mr. Chobanov said that they are the generation in whose hands our future rests.
The open lesson was held in the presence of parents and guests and was organized in the form of a competition, during which the various teams of first graders presented their business projects. The projects were related to initiatives for collection of texts to be compiled in a book, making a movie for Vitosha mountain, etc.
The presentation of the business skills acquired by the children was organized with thesupport of the Bulgarian Branch of “Generalelectric” and “Junior Achievement”, whose CEO Mrs. Miglena Stoycheva awarded the winners, while Deputy Minister Damyanova presented each of the participants with a certificate.
BCCI supports the idea that entrepreneurial skills must be developed at the earliest age and that children should be prepared for their future role of entrepreneurs and businesspeople.
