Rating agency Fitch got acquainted to the expectations of BCCI’s members for the economic situation in the country
Representatives of Rating agency Fitch visited BCCI. Matteo Napolitano, Director and Rowena Macfarlane, Analyst got acquainted to the expectations of the business regarding the business climate in the country and the areas in which measures for promotion of entrepreneurship should be adopted. BCCI provided the representatives of Fitch with the following information:
•Expectations of the members of BCCI for 2012 in several important aspects: business climate in the country; sales revenues; investments and employment;
•Assessment of the business climate in the country according to a survey of BCCI held among companies;
•10 most important measures to be taken, which will bring about growth and will increase the competitiveness of Bulgarian companies;
•The opinion of businesses about the areas which require further reforms, etc.
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out Bulgaria’s main advantages as a place to do business – macroeconomic stability, low corporate and personal income tax rates, strategic geographic location. He emphasized the need of additional measures in order to achieve growth – most importantly reducing the administrative burden on business, implementing e-Government, and efficient EU funds absorption.
During the meeting areas for future cooperation between Fitch and BCCI were outlined. Special attention was paid to the Chamber’s potential to organize business surveys and draw up classifications of companies according to specific financial criteria.
