BCCI participates in the 101st session of the International Labour Conference
The Secretary General of BCCI Vasil Todorov will participate in the 101st session of the International Labour Conference, which is to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 30 May to 15 June 2012.
Each of the 183 Member States of the International Labour Organization (ILO) is represented by a delegation consisting of government delegates, as well as representatives of the employers’ organizations and labour unions.
The agenda of the largest ILO event includes a number of meetings of the committees dedicated to youth unemployment, level of social protection, fundamental principles and rights at work, etc.
Late last night, the Governing Body of the ILO elected Guy Ryder as ILO Director-General. His five-year term will commence in October 2012. At present Mr. Ryder is ILO Executive Director responsible for International Labour Standards and Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
Guy Ryder has some thirty years of experience in the world of work, most of it at the international level. In September 2010, Mr Ryder became ILO Executive Director responsible for International Labour Standards and Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, overseeing key work in the supervision of the application of ILO Conventions and Recommendations. Mr Ryder was also responsible for the Office’s work to successfully complete the reform of the ILO Governing Body which came into effect in November 2011.
The President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) Plamen Dimitrov will be among the main speakers at the 101st session of the International Labour Conference and will give a report on “The crisis with youth employment, time for action”.
