BCCI participated with an information booth in the jobs fair held during the traditional prom for disadvantaged youth
Benefits for nearly BGN 40 000 will be allocated for disadvantaged youth who wish to continue their education in university, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev announced at the opening of the jobs and educational fair for high-school graduates from homes for children deprived of parental care, specialised and municipal insitutions. President Rosen Plevneliev hosted the traditional prom for disadvantaged and underprivileged high-school graduates in “Boyana” Residence.

BCCI traditionally took part in the fair with an information booth. Beata Papazova, Project Manager of “Increasing public intolerance to informal economy in labour and social security relations and preventive actions for its restriction” Project and European Integration and European Projects Advisor with the Chamber, personally greeted the young people explaining the opportunities for participation in BCCI’s Virtual Academy and for increasing their awareness of the labour market. In addition to the young people, President Plevneliev and the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Totyo Mladenov also visited the Chamber’s booth.
Around 20 companies, as well as the largest employers’ organizations and sectorial organizations participated with booths in the jobs fair.
14 Bulgarian universities were presented at the educational fair. Their representatives introduced the young people on the spot to the opportunities for education, the benefits and the existing programmes and projects.
The young people who receive the highest marks in the university admission examinations will receive financial assistance to make their dream come true, and I am very grateful to the business for its solidarity at this moment, President Plevneliev said. The Head of State pointed out that with the assistance of the Employment Agency, 12 of the graduates got job offers even before the fair started and added that possibilites to recruit 18 more graduates were being discussed. Some of the most preferred sectors by young people are construction, metallurgy, electricity, real estate, communications, furniture production, etc.
