Taiwan Business Forum

The Vice-President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Georgi Stoev opened a seminar within the Taiwan Business Forum for business meetings with companies manufacturing industrial fasteners, which took place in Grand Hotel Sofia.
In his welcoming address, Mr. Stoev noted that the Cooperation Agreement signed between BCCI and TAITRA has helped stimulate the exchange of business delegations. More than 150 Taiwanese companies, mainly from the sector of machine-building visited Bulgaria. Most of them are exhibitors at the International Fair in Plovdiv. BCCI expects the companies that attended the seminar to find new business partners, which would lead to new business endeavours and would help promote Bulgarian-Taiwanese business relations.

Mr. Joe Chen, Chairman of the Taiwan Industrial Fastener Institute said that Bulgaria is becoming more industrialized, which implies a growing demand for industrial fasteners and higher requirements towards them.

He said that this is a small, but key sector of industry and Taiwan ranks fifth in the world by production and quality of industrial fasteners. The remaining four countries are China, the USA, Japan and Germany. Joe Chen said that the country provides favourable conditions for manufacturing, because more than 90% of Taiwan’s production is meant for export to over 100 countries worldwide. In comparison, other advanced countries rely heavily on the local market.
