Tsvetan Simeonov signed the National Agreement “First Job”

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov signed the National Agreement “First Job”. The document was signed in execution of the National Initiative “Jobs for Young People in Bulgaria 2012 – 2013”. With it, the Government and the national representative organizations of employers and labour unions commit to work together to implement initiatives supporting the inclusion of young people in the labour market.

Mr. Simeonov expressed hope that the agreement would not become another signed document which does not entail any further actions, and that the parties would work hard for its implementation. He advised the members of the BCCI and Bulgarian companies in general to take advantage of this opportunity, because young people in Bulgaria have demonstrated excellent skills and deserve to make the most of this programme.

BCCI’s experience and previous work with the Employment Offices shows that the procedures have already accelerated and the funds are recovered on time.

The Chamber has already set an example by hiring interns for the second time. Interns constitute 3% of the Chamber’s employees. It is a long-standing practice of the BCCI to hire interns, students or young people who have recently graduated, in order to train them in project development.

The Chamber will do whatever is necessary for the information to reach its 52 000 member-companies, hoping that the initiative will help many young people find permanent jobs after their training is over.

Any information relating to the Programme, including information announced by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Employment Offices, will be published on BCCI’s website. The Chamber will also provide initial assistance and consultations to interested companies.
