Fairness and equality demanded by the Civil Alliance for Real Democracy “GORD” during a meeting at BCCI
At the suggestion of Mr. Slavi Binev, Chairman of the Civil Alliance for Real Democracy “GORD” a meeting with the President of BCCI Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov was held. Mrs. Polina Karastoyanova also took part in the meeting.
Mr. Binev said that he wants to show his appreciation for the business which he came from and briefly presented “GORD” as a political formation uniting political parties, civil associations and individuals.
According to him, the concept of “GORD” is presented as a conservative union which insists on rationality and requires fairness in business and equality of all economic entities. For the leader of “GORD” only people who have succeeded in their business endeavors should enter politics, as opposed to using politics for gaining personal economic advancement.
The President of BCCI presented the Guidelines for the activity of BCCI for the period 2009 – 2014 explaining that in its activity BCCI is guided precisely by these Guidelines.
Mr. Simeonov also emphasized the need to focus the control of compliance with the legal requirements on the companies from the “gray” and “black” sectors of economy, rather than on companies from the bright sector of economy which comply with the tax and social security legislation. Nevertheless, there is still excessive control exerted over honest companies. The President of BCCI expressed the Chamber’s satisfaction with the adopted proposal to keep tax rates relatively low, however foreign investments are still modest. This is mainly due to the administrative burden and corruption, as demonstrated by latest surveys held among companies.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Simeonov mentioned that BCCI is an open institution and “GORD” may always turn to it for suggestions and opinions on all matters of the Chamber’s competence.
