During a meeting held at BCCI, the President of the Chamber Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov discussed the development of the bilateral economic relations between Bulgaria and Ukraine with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Mykola Baltazhy and Mr. Dimytro Isachenko, Counselor at the Embassy of Ukraine.

Trade between the countries registered a decrease in the first quarter of 2012. In 2011 Ukrainian tourists that visited Bulgaria were 250 000, while around 10 000 Bulgarian citizens visited Ukraine.

Various reforms are underway in Ukraine, which has had a positive impact on economy. Investments made due to the country hosting the European Football Championship - Euro 2012, which is currently taking place in Poland and Ukraine, were an additional stimulus.

The President of BCCI and his guests discussed in details the upcoming establishment of a Bulgarian – Ukrainian Chamber of Industry. It will unite Bulgarian companies with interests in Ukraine, and Ukrainian companies already working in our country. The ultimate goal is to expand bilateral trade and business relations.
