Jackie Arueti: I do not envisage receding of Israeli tourists after the bombing
Jackie Arueti has been a Secretary General of the Israeli-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv for 20 years
“Commercial, political and cultural contacts are up to standard, which can hardly be influenced by the terrorist act in Bourgas”, said Jackie Arueti*, Secretary General of the Israeli-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv – a partner of BCCI, in an interview for "Aliya" - an Israeli newspaper in Bulgarian in Tel Aviv. According to him Israeli businessmen are increasingly investing in Bulgaria, attracted by the favourable economic climate and the sympathy Bulgarians demonstrate.
Arueti replied the question whether Israeli tourists will feel unsafe in Bulgarian resorts after this terrorist act as follows: “I do not believe this will lead to receding of Israelis from Bourgas or any other Bulgarian resort. So far there has been a 10% growth of tourists in Bulgaria on a yearly basis. Such attacks happen worldwide. There is no place in this world that is insured against global terrorism. We won’t give up travelling because of this. Our visitors feel safe and at ease in Bulgaria. Not surprisingly, some of them refused to return by the first plane but simply continued their vacation.”
