During a meeting held at the BCCI, the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova Mr. Georgi Panayotov and the President of the Chamber Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov discussed events that will take place in Moldova in order to present the investment and business opportunities provided by our country.
Some of the most favourable sectors for cooperation were outlined during the meeting, such as production of bio diesel, alcoholic beverages, wine production, import of water, etc.
Ambassador Panayotov explained that in the district of Gagauzia every investment activity is exempt from taxes. Moldova has very well developed shoe-making and textile industry, farming and production of caviar. The Ambassador explained that about 40 000 ethnic Bulgarians live in the in the district of Taraclia and there is a huge interest towards intensifying relations with Bulgaria. In 2011, 50 000 Moldovan tourists visited our country.
During the meeting the particulars of upcoming meetings between Moldovan and Bulgarian businessmen were discussed. The organization of business delegations will certainly be a step towards realizing Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev’s idea to support Bulgarian citizens abroad.
On 6 May 2013, the 200th anniversary of the migration of Bulgarians to Taraclia is marked. This date is the official holiday of the city. In this connection, joint initiatives were discussed to commemorate the event.
