Meeting with the representative of Russia in the Business Council of BSEC
Victor Arhipov, representative of Russia in the Business Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and architect Georgi Bakalov, President of the Union of Architects of Bulgaria and President of the Union of Architects of the Black Sea Region visited BCCI.
During a meeting with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov, the guests discussed the activities of the BSEC and the need to intensify the work of the Council which this year marks its 20th anniversary. It was ascertained that the remarkable potential of the BSEC has not been fully realized which deprives the participating states of opportunities to implement important projects for the development of bilateral and multilateral relations.
The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was established on 25 June 1992 by the Heads of State and Prime Ministers of eleven countries who signed a common declaration in Istanbul. Its task is as to serve as a unique and promising model of multilateral political and economic initiative aimed at fostering interaction and harmony among the Member States, as well as to ensure peace, stability and prosperity encouraging friendly and good-neighbourly relations in the Black Sea region.
The official areas of cooperation of the BSEC are combating crime, energy, healthcare and pharmaceutics, institutional renewal, communication technologies, culture, science and technology, exchange of statistical data and information, education, environmental protection, emergency assistance, transport, tourism, trade and economic development, agriculture, media, finance.
