Meeting with Confederation of Indian Industry in New Delhi



 

 

 

As part of his visit to India, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with Mr. Deep Kapuria, Chairman of the Regional Committee on Central Europe and Chairman of the Hi-Tech Group at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
 
Mr. Kapuria informed that the automotive industry has become a very powerful sector in India. In 2011, 3 million automobiles were manufactured in the country. In the next few years the annual output is expected to reach 5 million vehicles. India’s goal is to manufacture 10 million automobiles per year.
 
Mr. Simeonov discussed with his counterpart the activities of BCCI as an employers’ organization. He presented the role of BCCI in various fields and made an overview of the benefits of trade with the EU and Bulgaria in particular. Information materials were exchanged.
 
An invitation was extended to the Confederation of Indian Industry to organize a business delegation to Bulgaria in order to intensify the bilateral relations. 
 
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is a non-government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organisation, playing a proactive role in India's development process. It was founded over 117 years ago, the same year when BCCI was established. It has a direct membership of over 7500 large companies from the sectors agriculture, infrastructure, industry, services, and an indirect membership of over 100 000 companies from around 250 national and regional sectoral associations.
