The business mission to India ended successfully

Specific agreements were concluded and the start of new partnerships was given








The visit of the Bulgarian business delegation accompanying the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev to India ended successfully. The occasion for the visit was the 17th session of the Bulgarian – Indian Intergovernmental Joint Committee on Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which was held in New Delhi on 15 – 16 October 2012. 

 
Upon his return from India, Minister Dobrev said that the Indian company Sutherland Global Services is planning to create 1000 jobs in towns such as Ruse, Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas. The Indian outsourcing company has decided to increase the number of its employees in Bulgaria by 300% (around 900 people) as a result of the incentives for companies which open new jobs envisaged in the Draft-bill amending the Investment Promotion Act. Another Indian company – WIPRO, working in the field of hydraulic cylinders, IT and medicine has also declared its intention to invest in our country. ‘There are many investors in India who are interested in Bulgaria because of its macroeconomic stability and favourable geopolitical location”, Minister Dobrev said. 
 
The largest manufacturer of agricultural equipment in Asia ESCORTS has registered a company in Bulgaria and will start the assembly of a new brand of tractors “Farmtrac”. Afterwards, the company intends to increase its investments in our country. 
 
Bulgarian manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the food industry will take part in the international technical fair India Engineering Sourcing Show 2013. The aim is Bulgarian companies to facilitate agricultural produce processing in India with their equipment. 
 
The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov confirmed the positive results achieved and the usefulness of the business mission to India. Specific agreements were concluded and the start of new partnerships was given. 
 
During the mission the Bulgarian companies, whose programme was prepared by BCCI and the Bulgarian Commercial Affairs Office in New Delhi, held more than 150 business meetings with potential Indian partners during two forums organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the regional PHD Chamber. As a result, two contracts were signed – for the delivery of Bulgarian rose oil and products, and for the delivery of Bulgarian wines. 
 
Exploratory trips to the Bulgarian golf, SPA, and Black Sea resorts will be organized for Indian tour operators, as well as visits to India for Bulgarian tour agents. 
 
Perspectives for cooperation in the sectors of natural sciences and green energy were discussed alongide opportunities to intensify the contacts between Bulgarian scientists and Indian scientific and research institutes and centers.
