Labour and social security relations are often criticized by the social partners









 

 

Sofia University today hosts the scientific-practical conference “Bulgarian labour and social security law – myths and reality” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Department “Labour and Social Security Law”, under the patronage and with the participation of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Totyo Mladenov. 
 
The Secretary General of BCCI, Vasil Todorov greeted the participants and guests on behalf of BCCI which is the largest employers’ organization. Labour and social security relations are often criticized by the social partners. The contribution of the management of Department “Labour and Social Security Law” in Sofia University for the society and the country as a whole must be recognized, and especially the personal contribution of Professors Dr. Krasimira Sredkova and Dr. Emil Mingov, Mr. Todorov said and added that he personally started studying labour and social security law in the legal clinic at the Department. 
 
During the conference various topics such as surveillance at the work place as a means of exerting control by employers, protection of the interests of workers and employees in case of bankruptcy and over-indebtedness of the employer, social security burden and labour relations in the cross-border regions, etc. were discussed. The 10th anniversary of Department “Labour and Social Security Law” was celebrated as part of the 120th jubilee of the Faculty of Law, which will be marked in the following days.
