Cooperation between BCCI and the Economic Chamber of Macedonia in the field of commercial arbitration





 

Today, the one-week training of Mrs. Tatyana Shteriova, representative of the Arbitration Court at the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, at the Arbitration Court at BCCI was completed. The training was part of the programme of the CEFTA-DIHK partnership project “Application of CEFTA for internationalization of SEE economy”.
 
The training aimed at sharing experience with the Arbitration Court at BCCI and was focused on the following topics: structure of the Arbitration Court, rules and procedures, organizational aspects of the work of the Court, programme, records, problems related to the participation of experts, financial aspects – tariff of arbitration charges for domestic and international disputes, electronic data interchange for the purposed of the Arbitration Court. 
 
During the training Mrs. Shteriova got acquainted to the work and results achieved by the Secretariat of the Arbitration Court at BCCI, the management of the Court, the Voluntary Unified Trade Register of the BCCI, the tasks and challenges before GS1 Bulgaria (EAN Bulgaria) and the services which BCCI provides to companies. The guest was informed about the activities of the European Integration and Projects Directorate, the new events organized by the International Cooperation and International Organizations Department as well as the tasks of the PR Department of the Chamber. 
 
The final meeting of Mrs. Shteriova was with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov. He emphasized what the benefits are for businesses which include an arbitration clause in their contracts with local and foreign partners. Mrs. Shteriova presented the activity of the institution in Macedonia. The Arbitration Court at the local chamber is working hard to raise awareness among the Macedonian companies about the use of arbitration proceedings for resolution of commercial disputes.
