The visit of the Bulgarian business delegation to Albania ended successfully

The visit of the Bulgarian business delegation accompanying the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov to Albania, which was organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ended successfully. During the last day of their trip, the business delegation visited the second largest city in Albania – Durres, where the country’s largest port is situated.

The Bulgarian businessmen met with the General Director of Durres Port Authority Eng. Eduard Ndreu who presented the activity and services of the Port. The Port has four terminals and the project for the construction of a new terminal for fishing vessels is about to be launched.

Durres Port has excellent security and control systems. Entry on the territory of the Port is possible only after obtaining special port entrance permit. The Port already provides electronic services to passengers, thus saving them time and efforts. For additional information about the services provided by the Port visit: http://www.apdurres.com.al/

Eng. Eduard Ndreu said that the construction of the road Durres – Skopje, part of European transport Corridor VIII, is extremely important for the development of transport between the Balkan countries and Central Europe. For example, he said that this section of the corridor will shorten the road from Sofia to Tirana by 100 km, which is of great importance for the transport sector. According to Eng. Ndreu the project is expected to be completed by late 2013 or early 2014.

All Bulgarian companies which took part in the business delegation established contacts with potential Albanian partners. Both the Bulgarian and Albanian businessmen gave a positive evaluation of the held meetings. The development of joint projects is expected to start soon.
