Bulgarian business delegation is on a visit to Japan
This week a business delegation organized by BCCI and its partners visited Japan. The central event during the visit was the forum “Invest in Bulgaria”, which took place on 14 December in Tokyo. The forum was officially opened by the Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev. He presented the advantages of investing in Bulgaria, namely its strategic geographic location, economic stability, low labour costs. Minister Dobrev pointed out that our country is one of the three states that meet the Maastricht criteria. Bulgaria attracts investors from Great Britain, Germany, Italy but still hasn’t fully used its potential with regard to the Asian countries.
Mr. Makoto Ito, Former Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria welcomed the initiative to present Bulgaria in the Asian country and said that our country is attractive and provides many opportunities for investment.
Georgi Stoev, Vice-President of BCCI presented the Programme “Horizon 2020” before the Japanese guests as an opportunity to receive EU funding for their projects. The three main priorities laid down in the Programme are science, industrial leadership and societal challenges, with an emphasis on innovation in SMEs.
Japanese companies operating in Bulgaria presented their views on doing business in our country and shared positive experience. After the end of the forum, the participants had the opportunity to participate in bilateral meetings.
Some of the sectors in which we will try to attract Japanese investors are production of transport equipment, machine-building, electronics, logistics and chemical industry.
