BCCI HAS ACHIEVED ITS GOALS AND PLANS FOR 2010 IN SERVICE OF BUSINESS
During the regular Annual Meeting of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the 2010 Annual Report and the Programme for 2011 were adopted. It was noted that despite the difficult economic situation, the Chamber has managed to achieve its goals set in the previous Programme and to fulfill its financial plans. This should clear its path to successfully carrying out the plans for 2011.
The members of the Management Board participated very actively in the Meeting and a lot of new ideas and initiatives, which are important for achieving the goals of the Chamber, were added to the Programme for 2011. The suggestions were mainly orientated towards the need to look for new sources of financing, in addition to the standard and already existing ones. BCCI will seek to expand its opportunities to protect the interests of its members and to diversify the services it provides to companies.
Some weaknesses in the customs’ regime of the country were discussed, related to import and export, and mainly to transit, which will receive the special interest and attention of the Chamber, in order to create a transparent and predictable economic environment in Bulgaria and to guarantee fair competition to all investors.
Once again it was pointed out that Bulgarian companies should observe more closely the processes in the European Union and the regulations it develops, in order to avoid future surprises. The Board evaluated as positive the fact that unlike our state institutions, the European institutions provide much more acceptable deadlines for response with regard to the draft regulations. This should set an example for Bulgarian institutions so that they present their projects to the public organizations, including the business organizations, in due time, allowing them to discuss and analyze them and to formulate concrete suggestions.
