The Club of Women Entrepreneurs and Managers in Bulgaria presented today at a press-conference held at the BCCI the new contest “WOMAN-ENTREPRENEUR AND WOMAN-MANAGER OF THE YEAR”. The contest remains in the spirit of traditions and preserves the philosophy, established over the years with the competition “Business Woman of the Year”, which was organised from 1991 to 2010 by the “We women” Magazine. The magazine recently changed its owners.
During the press-conference Ms. Mariyana Pecheyan, President of the Club, and distinguished ladies from various business spheres declared their ambition to continue to support women, who manage their own businesses, regardless of the effects of the economic crisis.
The Club gave up the “Business Woman of the Year” contest because its trade mark, property of the publishers of the “We women” Magazine, was sold to another owner.
In a special declaration the Club says: “As women, who applaud professionalism in business, we value tradition and wish to preserve its spirit. For our Club, the National competition for leading business ladies is a socially significant cause. That is why we started our own contest, whose mission is to introduce to our community the real Bulgarian business woman, with her actual contribution to society. The competition will be organized by the Club of Women Entrepreneurs and Managers in Bulgaria and will be called “NATIONAL CONTEST WOMAN-ENTREPRENEUR AND WOMAN-MANAGER OF THE YEAR”.
The new contest is supported by the First lady of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Zorka Parvanova, by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CEIBG, the Mayor of Sofia, etc. The final stage of the first edition of the NATIONAL CONTEST WOMAN-ENTREPRENEUR AND WOMAN-MANAGER OF THE YEAR will be held on 19 May 2011 at 7 p.m.
The Club of Women Entrepreneurs and Managers in Bulgaria was founded on 19 May 2003. BCCI’s then President, Mr. Bozhidar Bozhinov and the First Lady, Mrs. Zorka Parvanova are patrons of the association.
At the moment there are over 100 Bulgarian women who do business in the various sectors of economy, industry and culture. We have our representatives in machine building, the food and drink industry, the chemical and sewing industry, in education, tourism, hotel and restaurant management, agriculture, services, etc.
