BCCI: The talks with the Minister of Finance will continue

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Simeon Djankov met with the management of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the financial stability of the country
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports the idea of adopting a Financial Stability Pact and the discussions about its specific texts will continue, the Minister of Finance, Simeon Djankov and the President of the biggest employers’ organization in Bulgaria - BCCI, Tsvetan Simeonov agreed.
According to Minister Djankov, our country is one step ahead of its EU partners – the President of Romania and the Prime Minister of Hungary also raised the question of adopting financial stability pacts by introducing changes to their countries’ Constitutions earlier that day.

The pact may help downsize the over-inflated administration lastingly, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov noted. Changes in the Criminal Assets Forfeiture Law were discussed and the cooperation between the so-called “Kushlev” Committee and the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, NRA and the other control bodies and authorities. The two parties also discussed topics such as various possibilities for filling in the gaps and managing the pension funds; the registration of companies and foreign commercial representative offices in Bulgaria; how to make better use of the opportunities provided by the public-private partnerships; and the benefits for the consumers deriving from the experience of large store chains.
The management of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry undertook in the next several days to provide the state bodies and institutions, including the Minister of Finance, with a copy of its Annual Activity Report for 2010 “in service to business”, which will demonstrate how positive results may be achieved even without money from the taxpayers.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Djankov started a series of meetings with the business to present his project.
