Iran and Bulgaria to cooperate in the areas of tourism and pharmaceuticals
"The high-volume bilateral trade between Bulgaria and Iran some 20 years ago is now a thing of the past. What was achieved by Bulgarian companies in Iran at that time, is not forgotten however. We are now aiming at increasing the merchandise traffic. There is potential for joint cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, in tourism and agriculture," stated the Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsvetan Simeonov, at the Bulgarian-Iranian Business Forum.
The forum was attended by Bulgarian businessmen and an Iranian delegation led by Dr. Mohammad Nahavanidan, Chairman of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mines. He highlighted that Bulgaria was important for Iran because it was its closest EU member neighbour. His country considered Bulgaria as an independent economy and as part of the EU family. According to Nahavanidan, the Iranian market, which covers more than 70 million people is a good place for Bulgarian companies for doing business.
